My Word For The Year

For many years I have asked the Lord for a word for the new year. Last year it was YES! and the year before it was Wonder. One year it was the last verse of 1 Corinthians 13. For me, this word acts like an anchor for my heart and soul. Rescuing. Saving. Like a plumb line I can keep returning to when I come off the rails in fear, despair, heartache. Wrecking Ball

The home across the street from us has been vacant for more than four years and has fallen into a horrible state of disrepair. The outside neglect, the part we do see — weeds, broken fences, sagging gutters, peeling paint — apparently doesn’t begin to compare to the inside neglect, the part we haven’t seen.

Jesus Calling Lite

Faith Community Church is celebrating our one year anniversary Sunday! A year ago, a group of brave people stepped out courageously and began this church. Crazy. I remember telling the Lord years ago that if I was to be a pastor’s wife, I would under two conditions — I never wanted to be the wife of a solo pastor, and I never wanted to be the wife of a pastor who was planting a church. Ha Ha.
