Welcome to My Blog

I write on matters of the heart, mind, and soul as it relates to faith, family and friendships. All things are windows to the soul and writing about God and His Word and why it all matters brings me great joy and blesses others.

My goal is to create godly, insightful, and relevant content that will answer the question, “So what?” for you.

If you desire to be encouraged and inspired on your spiritual journey, this blog is for you.

I was born and raised in Southern California, got my bachelor’s degree from UCLA, and promptly fell in love with a godly, kind and generous man who wanted to be a pastor. After finishing his master’s degree, he got a call to be a youth pastor in a suburb of Chicago. We moved to Illinois. Living in Illinois was definitely not on my bucket list, but away we went on our first adventure as a married couple.

We had a fabulous nine years in Oak Park, IL. Our three girls were born there and we came to love the snow, downtown Chicago and the beautiful autumns.

God called again and away we went to Yakima, WA. It was another amazing community of friends and a wonderful experience living in the Pacific Northwest. Four years later, we were on the move again.

God led us back to Southern California and we settled into our new city, our new home and our new church thinking this would be the final stop for our family. Instead, God called to another city and another church. Two years later, another call, another church. And then, onward again. But God knows all things and is the Author of our lives. We trust His ways and His plans and believe they are for our good and His glory.

We’ve been married for thirty three years and have added to the family: 2 sons-in-law, and 2 granddaughters. Being a Grammy is wild and wonderful! Chip, our diabetic dog, fills up our empty nest.

I teach bible studies, speak at women’s retreats and events, and mentor young women. I also substitute teach middle schoolers. In my free time, I read, watch sports, walk by myself and with the Chip man, have coffee with friends, and work on being crafty.

The one blog I read regularly:

My daughter. She’s doing beautiful photography work and you can find her at: Katskyephoto.com
